Hello!

My name is Russell Lau and I am a user experience designer and a lifelong learner. Ever since I got my hands on a Gameboy Advance in 2005, I have always been interested in technology and how we interact with it—not just with digital screens, but also with how we physically engage with the controls.

Currently a graduate student at the University of Toronto iSchool specializing in User Experience Design.

My journey

Started my academic journey in 2017 when I got accepted into the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. From 2017 to 2021, I majored in Communication, Culture, Information, and Technology (C.C.I.T.) in addition to historical studies. During my time studying, I had the opportunity to learn how to use Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.

After graduating, I worked at Prepr as a media production and marketing coordinator. I primarily worked with multi-media files and occasionally helped out with developing the user experience.

In early 2023, I applied for the iSchool user experience design concentration and here I am now.
